So, thought I’d finally blog and let yall know that I’m living in paradise this month.

Cicrin Ministries is an orphanage/children's ministry on Ometepe Island on Lake Nicragua in Nicaragua.
Here’s a link to check out it’s history, background, and find out about our legit contact Hellen.
There are about 20 kids here ranging in ages from 4 – early 20s, most have parents/family on the island but they’re to inept to take care of them, so they willingly let them live in Cicrin where they get taken care of, fed, and educated.

Team Alethia is with us this month too!
Curious to find out how life is for us this month?
5:15am – watch alarm goes off *snooze*
5:30am – (starting two days ago) Brittany comes to wake me up to work out (two days before I normally slept in until breakfast time)

6:30am – finish working out, Team Devo time before breakfast
7-8isham – eat some legit breakfast

8ish-1130isham – Ministry time! This looks different day to day for people individually—but the tasks are mostly the same, and we often rotate.

~ peeling and sorting through almost ripe, ripe, and rotten plantains (the rotten ones get peeled and given to the goat/sheep on the farm, while we get to eat the ripe ones), then cleaning out the little area in which they’re stored
~ washing a tub of 1000+ rocks for the patio
~filling in a big old garbage pit with dirt

~climbing trees to harvest oranges so we can drink them for lunch
~sweeping and mopping the patio/rancho/hang out area
~mowing the lawn…. With a machete
~teach English to the children at the school on Cicrin property
~washing windows, cleaning out their screens, getting rid of cobwebs

~painting and retouching up Cicrin buildings
~scrubbing mold off the water tower
12ishpm – lunch time! (equally as legit as breakfast)
1ish- 5pm – more or less personal time consisting of personal chores like laundry or picking up the room, taking a swim in the lake, taking a nap in the hammocks on the rancho, some people bust out their geets, and sometimes we make trips into town (which takes about 45ish minutes) for snack shopping and internet.
The kids all go to school at different times, but the majority of them get back later this time in the afternoon, so before dinner is prime-time hang out time.

515pm – I chase and catch fireflies outside for a little while with Junia, Hellen’s 4 year old adopted daughter
530pm – din-din time! (needless to say, we have all three meals provided for us throughout the day, and they are deliiiicious) 🙂
630pm – teeeaam tiiiiime! Team time consists of all of Team Pursuit getting together and hashing out life together, sometimes we worship, sometimes we do feedback on the day, prayer requests, highs and lows, sometimes we just talk about our days in general, either way—it’s so daggum good. And we also sometimes do group worship, and group team times where both teams get together and we just sing out to the Lord, and then hash out life together.
no later than 10pmish – it’s time for bed! With the fans kicked on, windows open, and lights cut off, I hop onto the top bunk and snuggle up under the sheet. To get to sleep I often watch geckos chase flies and creepy crawlies on the wall beside me.
