it's only fair to let you know up front: going into the mission field will cost me and everyone else that has ever been or will follow in my footsteps. some days, only a little. most days, it will amount to everything. physically, emotionally, spiritually… you name it. nobody involved is trading reality for a paradise of our own invention. we are after life more abundantly!

financially speaking, Adventures in Missions (which from here on out, i"ll just call them "AIM") requires that i contribute $15,500 to cover my expenses.

"whoooooooa!" is right. but hear me out, for it all makes perfect sense:

for the World Race, AIM shakes down $15.5K like this:
training camp — ??
field support — ??
WR development program — ??
administration fees — ??
the participant (me!) — ??

thus, on the other side of the globe, i am still on a budget, folks! see:
international travel — ??
food — ??
lodging — ??
transportation — ??
miscellaneous — ??

thought you were going to get real details out of me, huh? i wish i had all the answers, but for now i am content in all the uncertainty. i should not forget to mention the other realistic necessities of living and traveling overseas. feel free to commit to helping me out with any of these:

    • international medical insurance
    • sleeping bag
    • two-person tent
    • airfare to Launch site

  •

okay so, deadlines. they are helpful and will keep me on track:

    • initial deposit – due 6/21/2012 (2 weeks after acceptance) CHECK!
    • $3,500 – due 9/29/2012 (2 weeks before Training Camp) CHECK!
    • $6,500 – due 12/18/2012 (2 weeks prior to Launch)
    • $11,000 – due 4/1/2013 (end of 3 months on the field)
  • $15,500 – total due 7/1/2013 (end of 6 months on the field)

remember, you can reference this post throughout the year to track our progress or the "SUPPORT ME!" link near the top left corner!

final note: when donations are made, AIM is charged fees by credit card and transaction processing companies. so, a pesky 5% is upcharged to donations made by credit or debit card or 3% by bank draft (also known as electronic check) before these donations are credited to my account.

you can send a physical check payable to "Adventures in Missions" with
"World Race – Cherissa James" in the memo line to:

Adventures in Missions
PO Box 534470
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470

or use DynaPay to avoid these deductions entirely.
which, naturally, makes fundraising all the more pleasant.
