Hi friends!
Where to begin?! I remember my sophomore year of Liberty University as I left to study abroad in England for 5 months. My time in England was an amazing time, and I am so thankful for all the adventures and memories that were made…but I remember telling myself, “I will never leave my home and family for that long again. It’s too hard.” Being away for that long was really difficult, but it gave me an appreciation for my home and family that I had never known before.
Fast forward to senior year at Liberty. During my last year of school I felt like the Lord began to put a passion for missions in my heart. As I tried to sort through these new thoughts, I interpreted them to mean that I would use my marketing degree state-side to help aid missionaries serving out on the field. I pursued this after graduating and had an awesome opportunity to work for an organization called Global Partners. While working for Global Partners I had the opportunity to do this for a little bit and I really enjoyed it.
Fast forward to a few months ago. I was really seeking after the Lords heart and desire for my future and I felt like maybe I wasn’t JUST supposed to serve from here in the states… but that maybe Jesus was calling me to serve out on the field. I never imagined that I would actually leave the US, and if I did, I thought that maybe it would be for a few weeks.
Fast forward to today. I can’t even describe to you the journey Jesus has had me on which has lead me to this point… I am thrilled to say that I have officially committed to serving Jesus on the World Race for 11 months of my life. I am so thankful for everyone’s love, prayers and support as I reached this point. I feel so supported and loved.
I want to be open with you and share that I am a little nervous about leaving my family, home, and even missing out on all that Jesus is doing here in Lancaster. (He is doing big things!) But, beyond all these worries of mine…I am overcome with excitement that I will be dedicating 11 months of my life to serving Jesus with my whole heart. I can’t imagine a greater joy than to know that I am privileged to give up these things to pursue what I feel like the Lord has put on my heart; a passion to serve and be His hands and feet.
I will be leaving for this trip in October and can’t tell you how much I appreciate everyone’s prayers as I prepare for this journey. I hope that I am able to use this blog to share with everyone all the things that Jesus will be doing through my team, and during these 11 months!
