Oh my goodness, y’all! This little girl has stolen my heart!

Within our first few days in Chile, I started calling her Sister Sue, but now, her whole family calls me Sister Sue. So we’re both Sister Sue, now.

She is my ministry host’s daughter, and for the last two months, she has brought me so much joy! I have got to play with her, laugh with her, and love her. And, it has been so fun!

At lunch time, she runs into our ministry house, gives me a kiss on the cheek, and then proceeds to copy me.

Our conversations go:
Me: Hola, Sister Sue!
Sister Sue: Hola, Seeester Sue!
Me: Como estas!?
Sister Sue: Como estassss!?
Me: Muy bien! Y tu?
Sister Sue: Muuuuy bien! Yyyy tu?
Me: Muy bien!

She has made me laugh so hard, on days I really didn’t feel like laughing. But, more importantly, she has reminded me that ministry is simply loving people well. It isn’t about being at a certain place, at a certain time, talking to a certain collective of people. It’s about getting in somebody’s space, laughing with them, and loving them.
