family and friends,
I have some exciting news to share! For the past year, I have been working with a child sponsorship organization called Compassion International. This job has taken me all over the United States. It has also given me the opportunity to share with others how sponsorship can change the life of a child in poverty. I love meeting people and sharing my own experience with them. It has been amazing to be a part of an organization that changes the lives of so many all over the world. Since working here, the desire to go to these poverty-stricken places, and love on least of these, has only multiplied. I love my job now, it’s great, but I believe whole-heartedly that there is something BIGGER I’m suppose to do. The “American dream” is not for me. God created me to be the one to GO.
I have been accepted by an organization called Adventures In Missions, to a program called The World Race to serve as a missionary. This organization was founded in 1989 and has sent over 100,000 missionaries all over the globe. I will be living out of a backpack and tent for one year, and will be traveling with several other missionaries to 11 countries. In each country, we will be partnering with churches and ministries in local communities- working in orphanages, digging wells, teaching in schools, loving women and children trapped in human trafficking, and bringing the hope of Jesus to the many tribes and nations. Just saying that gets me so excited! The countries I will be working in are: Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
In the Bible, the number 40 held great significance. God caused it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights to cleanse the earth. Moses was on the mountain with God for 40 days, Jesus was tempted for 40 days, and there were 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension!
God has given me a number for this year long mission. That number is (can you guess?) 40!!!
I am asking 40 people to partner with me prayerfully and financially in giving $40 per month for 11 months. This will allow me to be fully funded while on the field. God used this number countless times to fulfill his promises, and I am claiming the promise that he will provide 40 people to partner with me!
Will you prayerfully consider being part of my “40 Tribe” for the next 11 months? Together we can share the gospel to the tribes and nations! You can do this by clicking here, and selecting the monthly recurrence to start August 2017 thru July 2018. (11 months) The deadline for this is August 30. All donations are tax deductible.
I will be blogging prior to leaving in January, and weekly during my travels. It will include lots of pictures and stories about how God is working in each community and village, and our and prayer needs. Be sure to subscribe to my blog!
I appreciate you so much. You all are a blessing to me in more ways than you could possibly know. You came along side of me when I was serving in Ukraine and Malawi, I know this next journey will be amazing and I can’t wait to see how God will use me this time with your help. TOGETHER we can do great things!
Thank you for considering to be part of my 40 Tribe Family! 🙂
Love and Blessings,
Chelsy
