First off you will need to know that this is a guest blog and the person typing this is none other than Grant, otherwise known as G-rant, Granimals, Kevin Granimals, Grand-pa, feedback king, and of coarse Granimation.
Enough with that. We are here to talk about someone else. His name is Mangistu, or Mango for short.
Upon arriving at HopeEthiopia on the sunny day of December the 8th we were met by a man by the name of Mango. To clarify his name he told us “like the fruit”. First impression was pretty cool, I had never met someone with the name of a fruit so I was pretty excited. The second impression was even cooler though. After introducing himself as a popular fruit, he showed us his motorcycle helmet. A white sticker on his helmet said the words “Boujee and Groovy”. Those 2 words pretty well sum up how he lives his life.
Every day Mango rides up from from town on his motorcycle, walks in the common room and gives everyone a hug. The first thing he always says when seeing us is “What’s up my boujee brother?”. He also has a habit of starting dance parties in the kitchen with the kitchen ladies.
To be honest I am not sure what else to say. Maybe it is just his fun attitude towards life, or the fact that he knows literally everyone in town and stops every 5 seconds to talk to them. Maybe It’s the fact that he is about to start a little store outside of his house.
It’s possible that I really have no idea how to explain it and you just have to meet him. Like I said you thought you knew what Boujee meant but you don’t and I probably can’t explain it to its fullness until you meet Mango.
There you go, I hope you learned something about the word Boujee, although I doubt you did because you don’t know Mango but this is what really matters.
Boujee is a lifestyle.
