Hello all!
We are in Thailand! We have been here almost a week and had a debrief weekend with our squad and some of our leadership. I just want to mainly give you an update on my heart and what the upcoming couple weeks may hold. (It’s unscripted, we really never know!)
Cambodia was really hard for me and I’m sure there will be a blog to tell you more soon.
So, back to Thailand. Not long after we had crossed from Cambodia to Thailand and returned to the bus, I shared with Sam about how bright Thailand already was for me. I felt like a weight was lifted off of me. Our first night of debrief, I was asking the Lord what He had for me in Thailand. He speaks to me and simply says, joy. I was super excited to hear that! Throughout the next few days, joy just kept showing up. Clearly written on tall buildings, others noticing it in me, and continually being showered over me. My dad always tells me that joy means Jesus, others, then yourself. While it’s not easy and I’m not perfect, but when you line your life up that way..pure joy showers you over and over. So don’t forget to choose joy today! 🙂
While we are in Bangkok for debrief, my team discussed what our next move was and what we felt the Holy Spirit was leading us to. My only tug was to go see Jay and Heidi Chang in Chiang Khong. They are missionaries to Thailand that are from my home church.
Our budget for long distance travel is limited and if we go North nearly to the Laos border to serve with Jay and Heidi, we aren’t sure we will have the funds to make it back south to Malaysia for our next month of missions. I had proposed that myself and another team member go and anything over budget I would just pay out of my pocket. We sent that to leadership. Leadership came back and said they felt like the Holy Spirit wants our whole team needs to go. As I want to try to figure out how we are going to make that happen, I realize that He already has this all worked out. When I was in Haiti the first time, we would ask people how they would make ends meet and they would reply, I have Jesus in my heart and He will provide! Talk about some faith!
So, currently we are on a bus to Chiang Mai for a few days then will head North again to Chiang Khong. I already know He has BIG plans for our powerhouse team to do His work in Thailand! Continue praying for clarity, direction, unity, and that we continue to seek Him and His plans for us!
*also, I’m about 2 weeks away from my February payment deadline..if you would like to help sponsor me and contribute towards the $550(ish) left to make my payment..you can by scrolling to the top and clicking the orange Donate!*
