…is TRAINING CAMP!!!
As of tomorrow, I will be spending 8 days in the Georgia woods for what is known as World Race Training Camp. I have absolutely no idea what I am walking into. Here's what I do know:
- I will be spending 8 days alongside roughly 300 other people who are madly in love with Jesus. (These 300 people are the different squads that are being sent out in January– M, N, O, P Squads). Can we say encouragement and edification?
- I will be sleeping in a tent. Now is probably a good time for me to figure out how to set up (and break down) my tent. Hm.
- I will encounter the Living God in a new way– as in an unexpected, rock my world, wreck me into a beautiful mess, come Lord Jesus kind of way. Oh yes.
- I've heard rumours of a squad dance competition. #Nsquad is gonna be dope.
- I'm going to find out who my team is– the 5-6 people who I will be living life alongside and doing ministry with next year. Ahhhh!
After the week I will fill you in on all the crazy goodness that was Training Camp. For now, I entreat you to be praying the following things for me and my squad next week.
- Pray for our ears to hear and our eyes to see the Lord and what He is doing this week. Pray that we would know God more, that we would fall in love with Him more.
- Pray for endurance and strength to make it through the week. It will be long. It will be hard– physically and emotionally.
- Pray for vulnerability. HIs power is made perfect in our weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)
- Pray for us as teams–that we would be undivided and unified–having one focus– Jesus.
FINALLY…. a little update on fundraising. As of right now, (counting current donations and all expected future monthly donations) I have raised $14,201.74!!!!!!!
This means that I have $1,298.26 left to go! This amount needs to be raised through AIM (for details on how to donate, please see my blog post entitled "Supporting Me: An Interview") Please, please, please prayerfully consider being a part of sending me!
In addition to the above number, I am looking to raise an approximate additional $1,000 in order to cover a few additional outside expenses; namely, some remaining gear items and plane tickets– one from Louisville to our Stateside launch location in January (location TBD) and the other as my return flight home in November of next year (from our original launch location to Louisville, KY). If you are interested in helping me this way, contact me directly as this money will not be filtered through AIM.
Thank you, thank you to all who have donated thus far! It is such an honor to know each of you. I am so humbled and grateful that you are a part of sending me on this incredible adventure God has placed before me. Know I am praying for each one of you!
