Frequently Asked Questions about my World Race Journey:

Q: What is the order of the countries you are going to?

A: Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and South Africa

Q: Are you going to have WiFi next year?

A: There may be times where I have limited access to WiFi and I have to walk to a coffee shop to get WiFi. I am committed to blogging once a week and communicating with friends and family once a week when I’m overseas.

Q: Are you seriously living out of a backpack next year?

A: I sure am! I already consider myself a minimalist and I will welcome the opportunity to live very simply for a year. Lately it’s been hard to walk into my walk in closet knowing most of my clothes will sit in boxes next year.

Q: What country are you the most excited about?

A: I am looking forward to Costa Rica because the ministry we are partnering with is the same organization I worked with when I went to Costa Rica on a Missions trip with Bethlehem Baptist in 2017. I’m looking forward to seeing my friend April who is a global partner with Bethlehem when I’m there.

Q: How is your mom doing with the news about you going on the World Race?

A: She was very hesitant about the World Race at first. My mom loves and cares for me deeply and always wants what is best for me. My mom was at a family gathering and her cousin told her, “If God is calling Chelsea to the mission field your job is to let her go where God is leading her.”  Ever since Dave Gall said this to my mom she has felt more comfortable about letting me go overseas.

Q: What ways are you hoping to grow next year?

A: I am hoping to learn about how God is at work around the world. I am hoping to become more globally minded and learn about cultures that are different than my own. I hope that living in community grows me in ways I never thought possible. I am hoping to gain vision for a vocation that I would like to do in the future. Above all else, I hope I experience fresh intimacy with the Lord.

Q: What will life look like after the World Race?

I am planning to live at my parents’ house in Milwaukee for a least a month. I am hoping to move back to Minnesota sometime in 2020 and look for a new job. On the other hand, I might love spending quality time with my nieces that I end up staying in Milwaukee. We’ll see what God has in store.

Fundraising update: I am currently $1,100 from the $10,000 deadline coming up in two weeks.
