Come one, come all, to this month’s edition of the Thankful Heart Initiative. The Philippines has been jam packed and incredibly amazing. Here’s some things I’m thankful for this month.
A good Father whose love never fails
New revelations
Aloe
The INCREDIBLE food they serve at Kids International Ministries (KIM)
A pool to swim in
The leg workout I get every day by walking up the four flights of stairs to get to our room
Being able to sign with a deaf person (!!!!!!)
The opportunity to feed kids
Birkenstocks
Coffee
Nyquil
God’s patience with me
Being able to wear my backpack of truth (see I’m Not Who I Thought I Was)
My mom’s pink high-waisted shorts
A squad that seeks to serve and love each other well
The fact that Coleman listened to Hamilton AND Waitress with me
Going to a real life wave pool aka the beach
Sunscreen
Squad worship
The new relationships I’ve formed this month
All the jokes/puns
The worship music KIM has been playing on their speakers on campus
Fans
A room that doesn’t smell as bad as the boys
Fruit
Vegetables
Garlic bread
Again, just all the amazing food here
All the lessons the Lord has been teaching me this month
All the really hard moments
All the really silly moments
Electricity
A REAL WASHING MACHINE
The wisdom God has given all of our squad leaders and our squad mentor
The fact that we’ve gotten to spend a month with Stacy, our squad mentor
Water
Water bottles
Getting to see The Greatest Showman (in English!)
A ping pong table
Shelby and Lucas who are my match at ping pong
The “American” day I got to have with Erin
Chili’s, which we went to on said “American” day
Ice cream
Wing Stop
The incredible love Jesus has shown me every single day
That’s what I have for this month in the Philippines! Continue to join me on this journey of cultivating a thankful heart! Spend some time with the Lord and just thank him for all he has done and all he will continue to do.
We serve such a great, wonderful, awesome, tender, and loving God. Keep pressing in, dear friends.
With great love,
Chels
P.S. Here’s proof they have Wing Stop in the Philippines 🙂
