Blogging is hard when you don’t know what to blog about. I have seen and heard about the impact that mine and my squad’s blogs have had on people back home. I am blown away by what the Lord can do through those of us that have chosen to write our experiences down.
But what happens when the weekly deadline comes up and you actually have no idea what to write about? You get frustrated. You get annoyed that you have to blog once a week. You question whether or not you are succeeding at the world race because you don’t have any crazy story to tell. You start requiring that other squadmates give you ideas for a blog outside of their own blogs. Then you start viewing it as a chore. As an inconvenience. As something irrelevant and meaningless.
But never do you ever pray about it. Ugh. Why don’t I start in prayer? Why don’t I let the Lord tell me what to write? Why am I so gosh darn consumed with how the world will view my blog that I don’t even think to ask Jesus what He wants?
So that is where I am at. Feeling like I don’t have anything to blog about, so writing about that specific thing.
And I now am declaring that I want to start surrounding my blogs with prayer. I want to pray about what to write. I want to pray that my stories are not self glorifying but God glorifying. I want to pray that the people who need to read them read them. I want to pray that blogging becomes a passion of mine because it actually makes a difference in the Kingdom. And I want to pray that the people who read them know that Jesus loves them and wants only but to have a relationship with them.
So I’m praying for you. Yeah you. The one reading this blog. I’m praying that my blogs reach you. That they teach you about Jesus and who He is. Cause He is pretty darn great.
