A week ago, my squad and I went to hike a volcano called Pacaya. It is an active volcano and last erupted in 2015 (I think). It was very different from the last volcano that I hiked in that it was almost all black, volcanic rock. It was an awesome sight, but even more awesome were the plants that were growing up through the rocks. Beauty was literally coming up from the ashes.
It is like this if you have a relationship with Christ, as well. He allows beauty to grow out of the ashes in our lives.
“…to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes…And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify Him.” -Isaiah 61:3
