Hello everyone!

Training camp is only 25 days away and it’s got me thinking about all the life transitions going on all around me.

Last week, I went on a little graduation trip with my three best friends Sarah, Paige, and Emily. We stayed in the Georgia mountains for three nights and had an absolute blast just hanging around the cabin we rented; playing Mario Kart (and watching Paige develop road rage every time she’d lose), watching “Say Yes To The Dress” and eating too much. In our squad, all of us, except for Paige, has just graduated high school! Because of this, talk of our futures came up a few times.

Sarah and Emily are going to Kennesaw State University in the fall to study Pre-Med and Music Education. I’m super proud of them! But I have to admit, I sometimes feel left out when they’re able to talk about decorating their dorms, what classes they’ll be taking and where they’re going to hang out during rare moments of free time. Part of me wishes I was able to contribute to the conversations and even share a dorm like they’re planning to do.

I’m very excited about the World Race the transitions we’re all going through right now are just very different. They’re shopping for desks and cute furniture, while I’m shopping for tents, backpacks and bug spray. The only thing we really have in common is buying cutlery, except I was sent (thanks Jacki) titanium cutlery that can attach to my belt if needed. Ha! ‘belt cutlery’, never thought I’d say that!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m so so excited and grateful to be going on the World Race, I guess I didn’t realize there would be an element of me feeling like I’m missing out on something else. You know? I definitely know I’m going to be gaining (and giving) SO much by doing the race. But I’m not ‘relating’ to my friends right now on a really big thing, that’s kinda hard. I’ll be helping them move into their dorms when the time comes so I won’t be totally out of it and I’ll get an idea of what the next year of their lives will look like, that will be fun!

You guys, I’m being real here. Most things are AWESOME, no doubts. I’m on a different path, and that’s cool, I’m glad. Maybe I shouldn’t post this while I’m a little, tiny bit bummed out. But maybe I should….

In the meantime, I have only a little more ways to go in the fund raising department!! I’m so incredibly thankful to everyone that has been supporting me. Thank you for joining my team, I truly am very very grateful.

Shoutout to everyone that has joined the team since my last post!
