Last month in Togo I had a wonderful surprise. The Africa Mercy Ship was within walking distance of our hotel in Lome, Togo. Before leaving on the World Race I knew that two of the women from my home church were going to be serving on the ship in Africa, but I didn’t know which countries. I was so excited to find out that we were in Togo at the same time! Becca is an RN and Kelly is a Registered Dietitian. I was able to spend time with both of them throughout the month. It was such a blessing to see friends from back home. We were able talk about our different experiences and how God is working in our lives. I was also able to visit them on the ship one night, which was a real treat for a World Racer. We ate Mexican food for dinner, toured the library, bought some goodies at the ship shop, attended their Thursday night worship service, and had ice cream after the service.
