Little, red, itchy bites started appearing on my body last Sunday. At first, I didn’t think much of it. However, as each day passed more and more bumps were appearing. The more I scratched, the worse they seemed to get. I didn’t know what was causing these bites and the more I tried to figure it out the more upset I felt. My outlook on everything else going on was clouded and dark.

A few days ago, one of my teammates spoke some great truth that gave me a new perspective. She encouraged me to do what I can do and trust God with the results. She was exactly right! That same day we moved all of our tents and belongings out of the house. We swept and mopped the floors. I washed my sheet and hung my sleeping bag out in the sun. I washed my clothes and took a shower. I did what I could do. My prayers also changed from complaining to praising the Lord and thanking him for who he is and what he has done and is doing.

It’s a daily choice. Will I choose to be frustrated and stressed out today, or will I choose to have an attitude of gratitude and joy? I choose joy!
