So, if you haven’t heard yet: we’re heading to Malaysia a bit earlier than planned. After much prayer and communication between our leaders and AIM, we will have an impromptu debrief in Malaysia.
It’s been a difficult few months to say the least. So we are blessed to have this opportunity to truly rest. Hopefully with this rest will come refreshing as we head into month 6 of ministry.
It does leave me somewhat sad at the same time, however. A part of me would love to stay and help with relief efforts. A part me continues to see the picture of beautiful Kishnamaya, tears falling as we say good bye to the village of Melchour. (Photo: Beautiful Kishnamaya after I prayed with her).
But I also see the Lord, remaining even after we leave. I’ve said over and over again: “It’s not about us or what we do, it’s about how the Lord moves in and through us”. Nothing I have done has been on my own, while here in Nepal. We’ve obeyed the call to go (Matthew 28:19-20). Some of us have shared the Gospel, even when there is no translator. But the Spirit of God is an awesome translator and speaks way more than I ever could.
Matthew 10:20 (ESV)
For it not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
One thing, I know is certain: God called us here to Nepal. We came. What we didn’t realize was the time frame of our stay. One of our squad leaders and a team leader came across this verse, as I also have been reading through Deuteronomy. It’s no coincidence that we all read it the same day.
Deuteronomy 28:6 (ESV)
Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go.
Nepal: you have captured our hearts. We have been shown and felt the experiences you’ve felt. My prayer is that you receive the relief and care you need. And I pray that this nation will learn to not live in fear of the unknown, but that they will come to fear God alone.
