Overwhelming. Laughter. Tears. (The good kind).

That is just a few words describing my feelings as I arrived for Project Searchlight. After being on the field for 11 months, it was wonderful to return home for the holidays. But as my plane touched down in Atlanta, and as I boarded the “plane train”, I was surrounded by a familiarity. A feeling of adventure. As I got off the train, I walked around the corner, without any thought of where I was going. Atlanta Airport pretty much will forever be connected to one thing: Adventures in Missions. It’s like muscle memory as I round the corner to meet up with other World Race Alumni, waiting for our bus.

As I glance around the Atrium, I look for familiar faces. I quickly hear an undeniable voice, “Is that Chelsea?!”, which comes from my dear friend Rose. As I look in the direction of the voice, I see several faces turn and see me. Smiles are everywhere. And as I quicken the pace, I am soon enveloped in hugs from people whom I’ve come to love dearly. My family. P-Squad.

Joy. Overwhelming, overflowing joy. That’s all I can say to describe it. There were moments last week, during worship where all I could do was laugh. Pure joy.

If you need some joy in your life, just ask the Holy Spirit. He’s got a ton of it, made special for you. Sometimes we are busy looking for the joy to be given, and we forget that we simply have to ask.
