I apologize in advance for the lack of communication. Who would’ve thought, it would be so hard to access the internet in India.

But here’s the beginning of my story here:

As I walked through down town Bangalore, I quickly felt the realization that I am no longer in a country where Christ is known as the one true God. As I walk through the streets, I am surrounded and in awe of the beautiful colors of sorres. Continuing down Commercial Street, I hear the not too distant voice, hauntingly singing/chanting to what most likely is Allah or another god. I see Muslim women covered from head to toe, in the heat of the day. I see nuns walking down the street from a large Catholic church visible down the day. I see women of the Hindu faith. And then there’s me. In all my pale skinned glory. It hits me. I have arrived in India. Jireh Home has been nothing but beautiful. We arrived on a Saturday morning, just in time for the children’s summer holiday to begin. We also were privileged to celebrate Easter here. By the end of the first week, our team lead morning devotions, had a time of learning, games and praise and worship. One particular night, we asked the kids to think of things they are thankful to God for. Initially they were timid and not wanting to speak up. But as one started, they all began to share. What I had not anticipated was they all agreed they were thankful for the team being here. One of the older kids even went as far to say, “When your team arrived, things got better, and you show love“. Others stated, “Thank you for teaching us new songs, and about the Lord“. Each of my team mates’ hearts melted. I remember looking at Stacie and we were both thinking, “we’ve hardly done anything”. But the words resonated, “you show love”.

This week we start VBS (Vacation Bible School) for Jireh Home and the local kids. Please pray the Lord would speak through us, and that He be glorified in everything.
