Hey friends! So excited to share this 11 month experience with you. So here’s what you need, or may want, to know about myself.
I’m an RN. I worked in cardiac step down for 2 years, and for the last year and a half, I have worked with new moms and their beautiful newborns. I love my job. But the Lord has been calling me in a different direction.
I went to Olivet Nazarene University, and earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. (Summer home of the Chicago Bears is how a lot of people recognize it.)
I can (somewhat) converse in Spanish, as I minored in it. I love speaking, but could certainly use some practice. I’m from central Illinois. Born and raised. And I’m SO HAPPY that winter may finally be over…fingers crossed.
I love weather. In fact, when I was a kid I really wanted to be a storm chaser. But the Lord had other plans for me. 🙂 I’ve had a heart for mission’s since an early age. I’ve traveled to Mexico twice with my childhood church. I traveled with Adventures in Mission’s to Peru in 2009. And in 2012, I traveled to Prague, Czech Republic to minister to Missionary Kids/Third Culture Kids. Each one was quite the experience. I know God had his hand over each. Now, after patiently waiting, making excuses why I shouldn’t, having unexpected heartaches, and simply putting it off: I finally applied and have been accepted on the World Race.
I can’t wait to meet my team. God is already working in each of us!
Much love,
Chelsea
