What’s the greatest need that you have seen on the Race?
Need. There is so much need in this world. Physical needs of food, shelter, clothing, and physical healing. Emotional needs of love, belonging, support, and emotional healing. Spiritual needs of salvation, freedom and purpose.
There’s so much need that it can be overwhelming when you realize you’re just one person. I, personally, cannot make much of a difference at all. But something I have learned is that the weight of the world is not my responsibility. That’s why we need the Gospel. One man came and filled our greatest need, a way back to the Father. In Him, I have everything.
The world needs Jesus, but it also needs people to show him to the world.
The greatest need that I have seen on this journey is the need for a Church comprised of sons and daughters who know exactly who they are in Christ. We are co-heirs in the kingdom of God who have the Holy Spirit living inside of them, filled with His power in our inner being, walking out a relationship with the Creator of the universe, fully known and fully loved. The world needs people who fully engage their identity in Christ in every aspect of their lives, not only building up the church, but who go out and be the church.
…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 1:16-20
There are a lot of needs in this world but we already carry the answer. It’s time, Church. Let’s live out the fullness of who we are, showing the world that it needs Him. Invite a stranger to dinner. Pray for that guy with the cast on his arm at the grocery store. Serve in a new ministry. Affirm a co-worker. Invest in discipling someone. Use your gifts to edify others. Ask God to use you every day to build His Kingdom and to bring Him glory.
Step out in faith. Live out your freedom. Spread love. It’s time, Church. Let’s go!
