Due to the intensity of training camp, I wrote a three-part series about my main takeaways. This is part three.

The moment has finally come.

“This is your team.”

We sat in a half circle, looking around at each other. Reality hits me. These are the people that I will be living with 24/7, for better or for worse. I feel cautiously optimistic as I think about what life will look like together. Although I don’t know them particularly well, what I do know about these women is pretty awesome.

Emily– More reserved than some, she is thoughtful and filled with great insight and wisdom. She’s also sweet, funny, and quite the dancing fiend.

Anouk– The German multi-linguist who is cool, calm and collected. She’s wise beyond her years and carries a big heart for people.

Raychel– An incredibly gifted fine artist, this lady radiates warmth and sophistication. She also carries wisdom that is firmly rooted in the Word.

Vandella– Not only is she charming with her SoCal chill vibe, she is bold, spontaneous, and down-to-earth. She also is awesome with kiddos.

Collectively, we are Team Redeem.

Our name is a declaration of what God has done in our lives and prophetic for the ministry we carry into this journey. As they say at AIM, “Free people free people.” Jesus has restored each of us from our brokenness and sin through His abundant grace, mercy and love back into right standing with our Father.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23

Our stories are ones of freedom, redemption and hope. As a team, we hope to release these things to those we meet along the way, pointing to the One who loves us unconditionally.

Not only am I excited to be a part of this team, I am honored to be team leader for the start of our journey. Going into training camp, I didn’t know if I wanted to have this position. I struggled with feelings of lack and issues of pride and self-righteousness.

As God encountered me throughout the week, I surrendered all of my own plans. “Whether you want me to lead or not, Lord, put me in the team and position I need to be in during this season.” I’m trusting that this is where He wants me.

Being asked to be a team leader is altogether exciting and terrifying. However, I was reminded today of a verse that always seems to pop up:

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalms 18:2

This certainly will be a season of stretching, intimacy and increasing spiritual maturity, but I know that He is my constant and my resting place. I look forward to everything He will teach me through and with this team because with us, He is going to do some mighty and awesome things.

Prayer Requests

//

-Pray that this time before launch will be a sweet time of rest, family and preparation for each of my squadmates.

-Pray increased love, wisdom, and discernment over me in this season of leadership

-Pray for good stewardship of what I learned at training camp and for God to continue revealing things He released during that time.

-Pray for more financial and prayer partnerships. I just reached $11,550! Come on!
