Yesterday, I met with someone who is passionate and excited about missions. He spent over an hour with me talking about strategy and giving me advice on how to prepare for the World Race. Although it was a lot of information, I felt really encouraged about the process as I walked out the door, ready to tackle the next phase of fundraising.

Then I got in my car and it hit me. I never asked him if he would like to partner in my ministry. Oh man, how could I have been so foolish? He all but asked himself during our time together. I was astounded that it never even occurred to me to ask. How did that just happen?!

Let’s face it: Fundraising is difficult. I fully believe that God will release the funds and He has proved Himself faithful to do so. I’m so thankful and encouraged that I am 50% funded, leaving about $8,500 more to raise!

Although God has shown me His goodness through provision thus far, I realize that the reason I didn’t think to ask this guy to partner with me is that I struggle with asking. It’s not my natural tendency to ask for help or to be direct with strangers. Whether it’s an introvert/protestant work ethic/personality/culture thing, I’m not sure. I’ve been doing what I thought was my part, sending out letters and praying, waiting for the money to come in. I thought I could fundraise without stepping out of my comfort zone. Ha.

Yesterday evening, I received a package from my good friends in South Africa. My friend, Leoni, made me a beautiful leather case with a metal engraving on it reading “faith” in Greek. How fitting for God to remind me about faith. It is not only confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about we don’t see (Heb. 11:1), but also stepping out into the unknown where He is calling us, trusting in Him.

However uncomfortable, He’s calling me to actively participate by verbally asking people to join in. I’m excited about this mission trip and believe that others will catch the heart behind it and want to join in, too. But first, it’s important to ask the question! So don’t be surprised if I call or message you in the coming days.

Would you love to get involved with my World Race journey but don’t have $8,500 to give? No worries! You can participate in different ways to help fully fund me!

I’m asking for one-time gifts of:

$10-50 people        $20-20 people        $50-10 people        $100-5 people        $250-1 person        $500-1 person        $1000-1 person or business

I’m asking for monthly(5 months) finance partners of:

$10/month – 10 people

$25/month – 10 people

$50/month – 5 people

$75/month – 2 people

$100/month – 2 people

I’m asking for referrals. Do you know someone that loves to support missions and would be a potential ministry partner? Let me know!

Thank you to those who have given faithfully to help send workers into the harvest field (Luke 10:1-2), supporting missionaries who are called to go. We couldn’t do this without you.
