PenHop
that is dedicated to prayer, a place where the sweet fragrance of praise,
worship, and prayer has been rising to heaven for hours, days, years. I love
just getting lost in a prayer room, spending hours in the presence of God and
letting the Holy Spirit move in me and take me to places that I’ve never
imagined. I spent a lot of time at the Amarillo House of Prayer before the
race, and I have really missed the prayer room at times during this trip. But
God is good and He gives us the desires of our hearts, during our last week in
Malaysia I was able to spend time on the beautiful island of Penang with Team
Willow and Team Fruit of the Groom who were working with the Penang House of
Prayer (PenHop) as part of their ministry for the month.
The Squeaders arrived in Penang on the afternoon of Good
Friday, the teams welcomed us to the city with sweet notes, a list of “best
of’s” for Penang and a goody basket, with butterscotch bread, candy, tiger
biscuits, and other deliciousness. After eating dinner at Kapitan’s (an amazing,
cheap Indian place with great naan and masala) we headed over to PenHop for
their 30 Hours of Prayer event. From 6:00pm on Friday evening until 12:00am
Easter morning we prayed and worshiped. The last 2 hours were incredible. The
Holy Spirit showed up powerfully and His presence was so tangible. At least 8
people from our teams were hit with the joy of the Lord and spent over an hour just
laughing in the Spirit. People received deliverance and hearts were encountered
by the love of God. I have never in my life experienced such pure joy and
worship, no one was concerned about looking foolish or what people would think
about them, they just worshiped, laughed, and danced before the mighty King of
Heaven. I can’t think of a better way to start Easter than praising the Lamb
that was slain.
