After a month of being spoiled on the island of Phuket in Thailand, my team and I headed 10 miles outside of Siem Reap to begin our second month of the World Race in Pouk Village, Cambodia. We envisioned the worst and as always our expectations we shattered and dispite the “hardships” we have had a great month in the village and will be sad to leave.

We are blessed to be staying at the school where we are teaching, the classrooms are on the first floor of the building and the living areas are on the second floor. We have bunk beds, a private bathroom, and occasionally we have running water. We are blessed to be working with three of the most amazing women who live here fulltime, teach english, and minister in the surrounding villages with the hopes of planting churches.

We also found that we have roommates. Ants. Crazy ants that burrow into the wood like termites. We had to travel down to Phenom Penh and came back and found little piles of sawdust on some of the beds. Crazy ants. They get in our bags, beds, and even our pants! Praise God for RAID!!

So, what does a typical day in the village look like for me? I’m glad you asked!
