MALAYSIA | Butterworth

So, as I told you all before, I got the opportunity to paint a mural with my lovely team, Sheeps of Butterworth, in a stairway! In the Philippines God gave me this awesome vision of the room being filled up with water as we worshipped, the more we worshipped the higher the water got until it spilled out of the top and out into the streets. People were drawn to this water, because it was God’s presence.

Anywho… while I was praying about what the mural should be, that vision came to mind again. Then, later when I was talking to Sarah I remembered her gorgeous tattoo that she has of a painting she did back home of this girl and WATER. Her waves and lines were just as I pictured in my head when I thought of the mural and vision. When I told all of this to her she loved it and felt it was perfect but we both agreed that we needed something more than water.

When we presented the idea of water to our leader, Carly, she said oh well that’s cool the name of the church though is CITY OF JOY… and we both looked at each other in amazement. Buildings were exactly what our mural needed which I don’t know why we didn’t think of before because God told me this when he showed me the water flowing through the streets. HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!

Oh and on top of that, as I was reading my Bible looking for verses to coincide, I fell (or God placed) upon Psalms 46:4 which says, “There is a river that makes glad the city of God.” How perfect for a church that is called City of Joy! And then when we found out that it would be on stairs, I almost fainted, because in Cambodia I was just saying that I wanted to paint steps…so all in all it was a great gift from God that we were able to do this mural according to his will! Hope you enjoy the pictures….
