Listening to my music in my car the other day the song “Who am I” by Casting Crowns came on and really touched my heart.
The first verse says:
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?
There are 7.4 Billion in the world today. It’s hard to wrap my mind around how God knows every single one of our names and loves us so much. But thinking about all of those people, what makes me any more special that God would care to know about me or my life?
Even with the billions of people on earth the next verse reminds me that God is still here for me constantly, through the good and the bad because I am His child! “Still You hear me when I’m calling. Lord, You catch me when I’m falling. And You’ve told me who I am. I am Yours, I am Yours.”
Even though it breaks His heart to see people sin and living selfishly for themselves He died on the cross to pay a debt He didn’t owe for one that we could never pay.
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?
I can’t imagine going through this life and not knowing the love God has for me. Even though I disappoint Him on a daily basis, He still wants to see me rise again. It breaks my heart to think about people in this world who have never even heard the name of Jesus Christ. This thought makes my desire to go and show His love to them so much bigger and just another reason I know that this trip is nothing but for His Glory. I am so excited to sacrifice my comfortable lifestyle here in Akron, Ohio to show God’s unfailing love to those who have never felt it!
I am blown away by all of the donations, love and support I have gotten thus far on my journey of preparing to go on this missions trip. I am about two months away from the first fundraising deadline and only need about $3,600 more to reach that goal! Please pray that God will touch the hearts of those that are able to give to help me reach my goal and give me the possibility to go on this amazing trip to serve God. Thank you all so so much!!
