Preparing to go take on this amazing adventure has pushed me to rely on my faith more than ever. I have made some big changes in my life since committing to this 11 month mission trip. From selling my car, moving back in with my parents, telling my work I would be leaving for 11 months and cutting 6 inches off of my hair (which is actually a bigger deal than you would think) it has been a whirlwind of events. Preparing to leave my comfortable lifestyle to travel around the world and share God’s love with those who are less fortunate than me has only made me grow closer with God. Most of the time the only thing I’ve been able to do is just give it to Him and trust that He will provide, and He has more than I could ever imagine! I reached my first fundraising goal one day before it was due! Tears filled my eyes when I checked my blog page and saw that an anonymous donor had given me $700 to get me past that $5,000 mark! I am still speechless and so in awe about the generosity I have received from everyone that I share my story with and even some who don’t know me!
Another big change that has come my way was a route change! I switched from the October Route 2 to October Route 3, which means that I will be going to 11 different countries than I had originally planned on going on. I wasn’t sure how to take this news at first. I was still so excited to be able to leave and start this journey in October, but I had been making all of my plans for the trip around the countries in Route 2. By the end of the day of finding out about this little curve ball God threw me I realized that He know’s what He’s doing way more than I ever will and I trust Him. For some reason He needs me more on Route 3 than Route 2 and I am excited to be able to do His work where He needs me most!
This new squad I have recently joined is so amazing and I am beyond excited to get to meet all of them in just 2 short weeks at training camp! We will be going to Costa Rice, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya!
This journey is far from over and watching how God has already been working in my life just makes me more and more excited as I get closer to launch in October! Please continue to pray for me that God will keep providing like He has and that I will receive the last $11,000 I need to become fully funded!
