Hi friends, family, strangers, stalkers! I went to Thailand!
And rode elephants….twice actually.

That tickled.
I went to the night market quite a bit…

We were blessed with contacts who really wanted us to experience the Thai culture. This finger dance is a traditional Thai dance performed when families have visitors in their homes….
Not sure what this bird dance is about…
As we entered the cultural center…
After the cultural dinner, there was a post show. This weird creature tried to steal people’s bags and eat their arms (jokingly… I think). It was odd.
The end of the show…
We went to an orchid farm and there was a butterfly conservatory there.
We did a lot of manual labor this month…
This is the fried short tailed cricket I ate for dessert.
Thai massages are SO CHEAP. I will never get one in the States (not that I did in the first place). They’re around $3/hour.
I LOVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. This lady is a cook we met at a home we served at a few times. She walked out of her place with a Houghton shirt on! Barely speaks a lick of English, has lived in Thailand her whole life…. couldn’t ask where she got it ’cause of the language barrier but how neat is that! 🙂

The last morning we did ministry on “New Land” (where we did a bunch of landscaping to eventually create a track for the girls who live at a home we served at), our friend Bud made us cinnamon rolls. DELICIOUS.
Our last night at ministry we set off these lanterns! It was awesome until one got stuck in a tree;).
These birds mark the start to a very spectacular evening. I graduated college with my friend Evan Yeong and his family happens to be doing missions work in Thailand indefinitely. After a few e-mails I was able to meet with them and on the way to their home we stopped to visit these sweet birds.
Here is part of the beautiful Yeong family and myself! I brought a friend with me and she wrote a blog about the night, you can read it here.
Below is Kacie’s ‘Is this really happening / I love my life’ face. Eng (Evan’s dad) told us he would call us before we leave Thailand and bring us cheesecake. Kacie and I wondered if he’d really do it. The last day in Thailand he not only took us to the cafe he works at, but bought us lunch, cheesecake, and a bunch of treats to take on the bus. This family is so good to us. We love you Yeong’s!
Thailand was great…. and short… and now we’re here… Cambodia! My team needs your help!!!! We are doing “Ask the Lord” and “Unsung Heroes Campaign” this month. The purpose of the campaign is to find future partnerships with World Race. Please let us know if you know anyone in Cambodia, know anyone who has been there, or think you might even sort of kind of have any connection to the country in any way, shape, or form. We are here at a hostel asking the Lord where He wants us to go, who He wants us to work with, trying to find people who know anything about anything about ANYTHING about ministries!
Also, I still have about $850 left to fundraise until the $15,500 is finally reached. If you can donate in any capacity (every tiny bit counts), you can do so here: https://www.adventures.org/give/donate.asp?giveto=worldrace&desc=For%20Chelsea%20Ellis
Thank you everyone for your interest in this weird life!
God is so good and I’m super excited to go home and share about His goodness! December 7th we fly into NYC! 🙂
Pizzy.
