Alvero is a fulltime short-term missionary from Nicuargua. He's a musician, studied in seminary, is a spanish teacher, designs clothes, is an artist, speaks English well and is AWESOME. We're with him almost all the time and it never gets old. Anyway, Cherissa, Christine, and I went to town one day with Alvero.

We got to know him a lot better and found out he has an adopted son and this is how…

Alvero met a lady somewhere (forgot how) who had a baby boy just a few months old. The boy had heart problems and was told he wouldn't live past 6 months. The lady didn't care about keeping the boy since she knew he was going to die so Alvero said he would. Alvero told the lady he would pray for the baby and because of God's strength, the baby would live.

Alvero prayed and told God that if he lets the boy live, the boy will be a Christian and will play the piano :). Alvero took his son to church and prayed for him, never ceasing. Now his son is 34, lives for Christ, has a job as an engineer, has 3 children, and plays piano. Alvero is 49 years old, he lived ENTIRELY by faith at the age of 15(!) when he adopted his baby boy.

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20
