I will preface this blog by saying the idea of heaven has always excited me and made me nervous at the same time. I am really looking forward to praising our heavenly Father and basking in His presence but the idea that we will be there forever seems a bit crazy.
Here on the race getting to know people and building relationships has become a big part of our ministry. Our last night in Swaziland we had some people over for dinner. One was Florence, the pastor of the church that we attended during our time in Swaziland. The other was Oscar and his family. Oscar is a teacher at the area high school. It was so fun to have everyone together. The conversations were flowing and everyone was having a good time.
This month in the Philippines we are with Pastor Al and his family on the island of Mindoro. I have already enjoyed having conversations with Pastor about his church and life here in the Philippines.
It is encouraging that Florence, Oscar, and Pastor Al, will be in heaven too. Even though our team only gets to spend a month in each place we will get to spend forever with them. Spending time with the people we have met has given me a tiny glimpse of heaven- and it will be GOOD! Not only will all of these fun people be there but we will be in the presence of God our creator!
