Hey Hello Everyone!
It’s me again- this time reporting from the Philippines! I am currently posted in a Christian restaurant in Malaybalay… a city who’s residents whiten their skin to look more American and roads coated with drivers who actually yield to pedestrians! A lot of changes have been happening since last time I posted and I thought I could briefly fill you in.
First things first, I have a new team! My very honorable team Lionheart leader, Shannon, has moved up to the position of Squad Leader for our wonderful S-Squad- creating the need to rearrange our team. I have a fantastic new leader- Brooks Elliot and a nuevo aquipo consisting of my old Lionheart teammate Angela Aston, Dawn Gorczynski, Michael Leutwyler and Ashley Peterson. I am pretty excited for our fresh start and ready to see what this month will bring.
Second on the list is our ministry this month. We are doing a lovely live/work scenario at an orphanage here, taking shifts with the 26 different kids who reside on a seriously beautiful piece of property. We will also be helping finalize a regulation size soccer field for the kids and future missionaries. The best part, however, is the fact that we are here with 4 other S-Squad teams. God has blessed me with a lot of awesome opportunities for personal relationships this January and I am going to take full advantage of my current situation.
