Whoop Whoop! Hey Everyone!
I just finished watching the MTV Video Music Awards (I know, I know, but I love flashing lights, bright colors and gangsta rappers!) and I have to say that it was not disappointing! I usually make it a point to get my Music Television fix in every once in a while, and it always seems like I learn something new every time I watch the epitome of modern pop culture. The world seemed to take a dramatic pause as I watched various performers shake their hind quarters to whatever top 40 hit they were promoting. Every moment was like a glimpse into this fantasy land that I will never completely understand.
I will be the first to admit that I do enjoy music that provides me with the capability to dance while I’m driving. I was particularly amazed, however, by the queen of the night, Lady Gaga. She is only 2 years older than I am but is living a life that I don’t think I would catch myself in. Her music is so painfully catchy and I have definitely used it for shaking my bon-bon’s in my VW Jetta . The reason I was so taken by her tonight was not because of her notoriously insane outfits or the electronic beats of “Bad Romance”, but by her 3 separate acceptance speeches.
The Lady was so thankful for all of the awards that were given to her, including the biggest honor of the night, “Video of the Year”. When she found out she had won, she began to cry, leading to the announcement of the title of her new, not yet released album, “Born This Way”. She explained that the Lord God does not make mistakes when He created us, and she was happy that she was “born this way”. Even if Lady Gaga is not a practicing Christian, it was still extremely humbling to hear her say those words.
We were all born in a certain form because He wanted us to be. Even when the superficial world dares to tell you otherwise, you are perfect the way you are! Satan will try and show you the ways you aren’t the same as everyone else, but the Lord made us all perfectly different! God loves us for exactly who we are. No matter how much you try to fight it, the Lord made you and you are fantastic!
I love you all so much! I leave in 19 days!
For those of you in the Charlotte area, Lady Gaga will be here on the 18th!
