Kampong Cham, Cambodia… what could I say to describe this
ministry month? I’ll let you in on a secret- it’s all about relationships. We
teach English at a local Vietnamese refugee school (the building was once a
brothel) and spend the rest of our time building relationships with whomever we
meet! White people are few and far between here but I have been doing my best
to try and talk to anyone who I can communicate with. The Lord puts random
people into focus for me and I am not one who is a particularly big fan of
disregarding His Divine appointments.
The interesting part of obedient conversations, however, is
how many of these opportunities have been within our contact and my team. We
have spent an exponential amount of quality time together this month and it has
been bringing me quite a bit of joy. We had the privilege to spend the Khmer
(pronounced ka-my) New Year in Siem Reap, Cambodia, visiting Angkor Wat with
another team and enjoying it with so many other foreigners as well as locals.
My heart was overjoyed at spending time with my team at our
ministry site as well as in a town 5 hours away from us and I wouldn’t have had
it any other way. The joy I felt can’t really be justified through words… so
I’ll hand you my favorite ‘joy in the Lord’ picture and write again soon. I
love you all so much!
