Hey y’all, sorry for the late update!
So, my team and I are still on an ongoing adventure to make it to our new ministry destination in Peru. We have been lucky enough to be the only team from my squad selected to go rough it out in the middle of nowhere in the amazon rainforest, while living in a house off of the amazon river!
My past week, on the 9ththe squad and I packed all of our things and set off for a 9hour bus ride to Peru. After our 9hour bus ride we arrived at a bus terminal and stayed there from 7~12. By 12:30 we were all loaded up and ready for our 19hour bus ride to Trujillo. After arriving in Trujillo, we ended up at a bus station waiting to get picked up from one of the other team’s ministry host. We said our goodbyes to team Ester & Hope and headed out for a two day stay with team Tribe and Silverbacks. While we were there we ate amazing food, and had a full day at the beach, which was much needed. The boys(silverbacks) left the night before we did. We left for the bus station awaiting a 10hour bus ride to a hostel in Lima. We arrived in Lima around 6:30 that night and wouldn’t be leaving for another two days. For the two days, we were there we spent roughly 6 hours of it in a mall to soak up all our Wi-Fi needs, and the rest of our time was spent catching up on sleep and eating really unhealthy foods. We left for the airport at 8pm and slept on the airport floor until 3:30am awaiting our 2hour flight into Iquitos. While waiting for our flight to arrive ya girl treated herself to a holiday Starbucks drink… yes, they had a Starbucks! God is good y’all. After arriving in Iquitos around 7am we took tuk tuks to a ministry house we would be staying at for three days. Keep in mind we’ve already been traveling for 7 days and have yet to make it to where we will be living for the next month. Crazy right!
As of right now I’m sitting in this cute café with only one day left before I take a 2hr bus ride and a boat ride to where I will be living for the next 16days. In the words of Bobo~Bagins “I’m going on an adventure”
Wish me luck!
