Sometimes on the Race you get to visit people’s houses and build them a stove.
The number one cause of death in Guatemala is from lower respiratory infections due to the smoke that comes from their stoves. In Guatemala, almost everyone cooks over an open fire in their homes. The smoke from the fire fills their houses which causes them to breath all the smoke in. After years of breathing in the smoke it effects their lungs and causes them to get infections.
Thankfully, through adventures in missions we are able to provide people stoves that prevent the smoke from filling up their house and lungs. I’m so thankful to be apart of this team. If y’all have any questions or want to get involved contact me. There are ways that you can help/donate.
