“Live in the moment, living the dream”- Monica Sowles            Update on our crazy life- We spent five days in Brisbane with an outstanding family, and went on our way to the northern outback, our 11 am flight was cancelled, which made for a 3 hour detour to Sydney, making it to Darwin at 11pm. The heat and humidity made for an instant sweat. After one night in Darwin and one night in Katherine, and a five hour drive in a very sweaty 20 passenger bus we made it to our destination- Beswick!  We are working in an aboriginal community that needs encouragement and much joy. It is a place with a much deeper need then I can comprehend, but I know God is doing something. I am asking for prayer, it is a hard place to be with deep issues but God is in the people and waiting to break out. My soul is breaking for this community already, for their lives, lifestyles and needs. Pray for our team to be built up with Gods strength and the love of God to shine out of us into this community, and for a hope to be brought.

We are living in contractor courters, which is really a cement building with concrete flooring. We spent over an hour scrubbing the floors, and cleaning the building but now we have made this our home for three weeks; sleeping on a tarp, then our sleeping bag for cushion, a mat and in just our sleeping liners- it is so hot. I have never experienced a heat like this, where I am sweating 24/7 and I am not exaggerating, I have a cloth with me at all time to wipe away the sweat every 2 minutes. When it rains we have to be ready to evacuate because our building could flood. The bugs, toads, lizards, grasshoppers are everywhere, which means it is very important to keep our doors closed at all times. We cannot swim in the lakes or any water because of the crocodiles but we do have a shower with unlimited water, praise the Lord!

This community does not go by time, they do not own clocks or watches- for example we were told we were going to leave for town at 10am and it is almost 1pm, still waiting. I am learning about the hurry and wait lifestyle, a culture joke here is NT time, which is the Northern Territory time, which means not today, not tomorrow, not Tuesday, not Thursday. You may be asking when does anything get done? I am not sure, but everything is at night because the heat makes you want to stay inside.

Well that is the update for now; blogs will be posted when I can as the internet in 2 hours away from us. Please read my team mates blogs (as well as mine) because we all have different insight into this world and journey.

Love and blessing to you all,

                Charlotte
