August
9,2010- A typical day at work.

7:30 am – wake
up

8 am – had
bucket shower (with limited water, 4 litres-enough to somewhat wash your
hair and splash water on your whole body)

9 am
breakfast –  Milky Tea and one chapatti
We then walked down to the main street and waited for a vehicle to get us to one of the
local communities ( African style- one hour later a vehicle came)
12pm- we arrived at the community we
were doing ministry at -That day we were going door to door talking about
Jesus. But first and foremost we had to have tea to start the day, we sat in a random
house and they brought use tea, chapatti, boiled eggs and bananas
(which was awesome because my energy level was down and I was so hungry).
1 pm- we started the adventure to mud
houses, shacks and villages- hiking to and from them.

God was at work the moment we started
walking. Michelle, our translator (David) and I, first stopped
at a mud house
(they were working on their house- we got to help and experience building
a mud house). We then shared about Jesus the hope of life. The young man we
were talking to was so excited and ready to confess Jesus as his Lord (he
wanted to get baptized too, which we almost did but he decided to wait).

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus in Lord and believe in your heart the God raised him from the dead you will be
saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with
your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10: 9-10.

We then prayed for a young lady
who wanted her parents to know God as their personal saviour. Moving to the
next house, an older lady wanted to confess God as her personal saviour, we
prayed a pray with her and celebrated.
We met another lady who was 18 and blind, we prayed healing over her.

We then met a group of people who
were drinking (it was a gathering place for alcoholics- which was a hut), it
was crazy what God was doing as we were ministering to them, their eyes and
ears were open, and they started to put down everything and ask us questions. We were honest;
God began to speak through us as we shared personal testimonies. We talked about
how God does not call perfect people and he loves them very much. How God does
not need them to be perfect before they come to know Christ, but he will help
them with their struggles, you just need to call on him. It was awesome.

A lady in that hut said to us, “I
am challenged that you would come across the world to share about this hope,
and makes me
wanted to know more”

After that we moved to another
house we spoke to
this beautiful lady who was preparing dinner and she ended up
confessing God as her saviour, she was so happy. We all gave our African call in
celebration (which is something we learnt here in Africa-it is a high pitch yell).

4:30pm– We
finished our day going house to house. On our way home we walked to a view
point (Cheptilal cliff- tourist attraction)
where it was a view of the whole
valley.
Sebei is so beautiful; it truly declares the Lords glory.

We hiked up the street (which is
so bumpy no cars can make it down), and came to a house where they feed us –
tea, beans, rice, chapatti,
matooke (mashed Plantain). The rain started and we
all ran into a house for cover.
8:30pm -We finally made it home.

In my prayers lately I have been
thanking God that he gave up
his life so we can have life. Also that bibles
would be
provided in this community (limited sources here, if you are at all
interested
please let me know) and I just keep giving God all the praise for
the work that was done that day.

I went home tired but filled with an

indescribable Joy. God is showing his
purpose, and I just want to keep stepping into that.

Please be praying for the needs (bibles, etc), open hearts and a true desire to come to know God.

We give all the praise and Glory
to the Lord- giving Him the Thanks.

supports you.”
