We arrived in Australia about 4 days ago and time is already flying by. We are in Brisbane, staying with an amazing family, who so graciously opened their house to us for 5 nights (as we are in between flights). They have been so great to us, really giving us a time of relaxing, making us feel as if it is our own home and bringing and showing us where to go as tourist. We have shopped the city, seen Koala Bears, eaten the famous pies,Swam in a manmade lake (but not what you may picture, it was clear water and soft sand), we did a boat ride through the city at night- where the bridges were lit up with lights and reflections beaming off the water. I have been able to buy a few things I will need before we get to our next destination- like a tent (if you did not already know mine broke on me in the middle of the night) and a hat, as it is only getting hotter.
Every morning we wake up to peacocks and birds that make weird sounds- it was nice for a couple morning but now I want to…(I will leave that to your imagination), we hear possums jumping onto the tin roof as a nightly ritual (the family were staying with called them meteorites). The crows are about triple the size here- I literally ran from them they were so big. The ant and spiders are triple the size- never want to walk into one of those. We have been going for runs in the mornings now, it is like we are running through a tropical forest, every sound you could think of and more, the trees spiralling in every direction, beaming green in every shade. It so hot you sweat from your legs, arms, wrists and all over your face and at that point you are just starting to run.
This is just quick run down of our five days in Brisbane, Australia so far.
Please pray as we are travelling in two days to start our ministry and our very excited to serve and encourage a pastor and aborginial community.
G’ Day
