Okie doke well I am currently in Nepal. It is cold. But it would probably be a good idea to mention a few of the more exciting things that happened in Africa before moving on to Asia.
So I started out in Kenya and lived in this awesome mud hut. We walked around and did hut to hut ministry. My entire team preached, prayed, gave enccouraging words, and played with Kenyan kids. Some of the kids hadden't ever seen a white person. They were very energetic.
After that, I traveled to Tanzania and lived in Mwanza. There was electricity! And cokes right down the street. I had bottled mountain dew. It felt like heaven. We preached a good bit at our contact's church. Its always interesting to see all the different ways people have church around the world. Service can last for four hours, six hours, or just two hours. Then to finish off the month, I got to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. That was quite the experience. It was basically just this massive mountain out in the flat lands of Africa. With snow on top. We hiked for a day and a half and were above the clouds. Then we hiked for three more days before getting to the top. Fun times all around.
Next was Mozambique. It was wet. And muddy. But also great. I worked with a ministry called IRIS that was started by Heidi Baker. We actually received more ministry that week then we gave. There was a lot of great teaching and a lot of prayer for our team. There was also an epic playground. The orphans that lived in that general area loved playing "underground church" with us which is basically just the missionary version of Mafia. Highly entertaining.
So it been interesting all the different strengths that our team has. Everyone is readdy, willing, and able to serve at a moments notice. Pretty much everyone has done everything ministry related. And everyone is willing to be stretched and try new things. Its great to have strong supportive people around. It also hhelps when they do pushups with you. Very motivating. Next is Nepal. Here we go. Rummor has it that there is bungee jumping.
