March 1st is a significant day for World Racers. It is our last financial deadline to ensure that we have raised enough support to cover the remainder of the costs for our Race. Everyone has to be fully funded or at least fully funded with pledges by the beginning of March in order to continue on the journey with our squad.
With one time gifts, monthly donations and monthly pledges still to come, I will have met the $4,800.00 I needed to raise for this year! I remember back six to eight months ago before I left for the Race when the financial burden of this trip was so huge and I often wondered how on earth I was going to raise enough support to make this year happen… especially given the fact that so many of you had just finished supporting me the previous year through my church internship. But, here I am, fully funded with pledges and I’m so grateful. I have said it before…and I can’t tell you enough – how much all of your generosity blows me away, challenges me, and humbles me. Thank you for stepping into this year-long missionary journey with me by providing the necessary monetary means to make it happen. Thank you for allowing me to GO and SERVE through your financial partnership.
Megan Miller…Megan is a fellow World Racer on my squad. A similar passion got her here – – and a similar heart for wanting to finish this year on the Race beats in her as it does in me. You all know how much I struggled 3 months ago with the real threat of having to leave the Race early because of my health…so my heart goes out to my squad-mates who are at risk of going home due to financial reasons. Each of us who are fully funded have been asked to partner with a squad-mate to ask for support on their behalf. Just as my teammates fought for me and my Race three months ago, I get to fight for Megan’s Race!
