My peers on the World Race write blogs on how the World Race is not a vacation. The trip looks glamorous to the onlookers, and so there are those blogs where they have to address it. I’ve prewritten for my blog concerning that subject over and over again, but I just keep finding myself just wanting Jesus to receive the reward of His sufferings in Southeast Asia, Africa, and in Eastern Europe.
The World Race is an A M A Z I N G race as we will be able to see first hand what the Lord is doing in the earth. We will look among the nations and see; we will be filled with wonder and be astounded at the finger of God in such a way that we would not believe it if someone told us now 3.5 months before launch.
All over the earth, the Lord is raising up a pure and spotless bride who loves Him.
Pray with me and my team that Jesus would be famous among the peoples of the earth, and that His bride would be unified. Below are four prayer points that I have been praying along with verses to use in your dialogue with Holy Spirit.
- Let the WORTH of Christ go forth.
Prayer for revelation of Jesus’ beauty that we might walk in our calling and destiny by God’s power:
“…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might…” (Eph 1:17-19)
Pray for Jesus to receive the reward of His sufferings (us), and that our lips would sing of His greatness:
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (Rev. 4:11)
“…I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of Joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord.” (Ps. 27:6)
- For the fame of His name.
Pray that Jesus would be adored and magnified through prayer and worship (incense) in the nations of the earth before His return:
“For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 1:11)
- Unity for the Church
Prayer for unity in the church and to be filled with supernatural joy, peace and hope:
“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom 15:5-6, 13)
- Pray for my team, that we would know what it truly means to let God spend our lives.
Pray that we will know Who is the focus of going among the nations:
“Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me…” (Zech. 10:9)
“This morning, as I jogged and listened to a message by Elisabeth Elliot which she had given in Kansas City, I was deeply moved concerning my own inability to suffer magnanimously and without pouting. She was vintage Elliot and the message was the same as ever: Don’t get in touch with your feelings, submit radically to God, and do what is right no matter what. Put your love life on the altar and keep it there until God takes it off. Suffering is normal. Have you no scars, no wounds, with Jesus on the calvary road?
