February 1st started off with me waking up feeling congested and not really wanting to get up. So, I prayed and was like “God, I really dont want to get up. I really dont want to be around people right now, but I know it will be a good day because you have blessed me with this day and the opportunities that will come along with it.” and with that I got up. I kinda just sat around and really didnt do much all morning. I had my quiet time with God and that was about it. At around 1230 took a nap til like 4. Got up walked with a couple squadates who were going to get a treat quick and when I ame home our team was supose to be headed out for Dinner. My teammate Lacey had gone out earlier with a fellow squadmate so we ended up waiting for awhile to see if she was comming back. We all started getting Hungry so we decided to head out and hopefully meet up with her at some point on the way.
That is when it happened. I saw a guy running pretty fast and then I heard either Daniel or Joel I dont really remember say the house was on fire and they ran. I immediately look over and see fire an smoke comming out of one window of the house and then I will never forget in the room next to the fire at the barred up window were the faces of the two littl twin girls we saw everyday outside. They were crying and reaching. Us girls without really even thinking hoped over the cement wall to get to that window where the little girls were. We soon realized there was no way we would be able to get them out. I then looke back at our house and yelled to the team that was in the car port part of our house that the neighbors house was on fire and then quickly turned my attenton back on the two little girls. We were still tryn to igure out how to get them out. I then prayed and was like ‘God, I dont know what to do this seems impossible, I need you to show up…” I opened my eyes and I remember seeing Joels arms wrap around the two little girls and he brought them safely from the house.
There were a total of 5 children under the age of 10 in that house when it caught fire. Daniel and Joel were able to get them all out safely. There was also a propane tank that somehow didnt explode and the guys on our squad brought out 4 jugs of our drinking water that were some how able to put out the fire. God definately “Showed Up” that night. He used everyone of us that night, which happened to be our last night in the Dominican.
This night was different for every person that was there. For me it was a reminder at how big God is. That nothing is impossible with God. That I cant do things on my own. That I have to seek him in all things especially when they seem impossible. It is also a reminder that we can not let fear stop us from what God has called us to do.
The children stayed over at our house that night until around 11pm. Just a few hours after t was so awesome to see God bring those scared children Joy and happiness… We got to see them smile and laugh…It was amazing…We serve a big God….Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE with him. He never Leaves us and is ALWAYS present… Please pray for this family. Pray that through this that they wouldnt remember it as the night their house was on fire, but the night that God did the impossible…
I will try and upload pictures Soon. Please Continue to pray for me that God will take me out of my comfort zone and he would use me in ways i would never imagine. Also please consider supporting me if you have not so that I can continue to be used by God around the world. Thanks again to those of you who have already supported me, or continue to support me, it is because of God using you that he is beng able to use me in many ways around the world.
