“Lord I am Ready”
So many times in our lives as Christians we are like Simon Peter and we say “Lord, I am ready to go with you, both to prison and to death.” (Luke 22:33) Yet, are we really ready? Are you really ready to sacrifice your whole self for God? Give up conveinences? Give up Familiarities? Give up your whole life? We are so quick to say those words and we may even think we really mean those words, yet we do not put those words into action. Our actions many times do not reflect those words that we say. We let life get in the way, or we worry about what people will say or think. We let those things either stop us or slow us from the work that God has called us to do, which is is completely surrender our lives to him.
This past week has been very interesting for me, since i have gotten accepted to The World Race. Many people that I tell about the World Race or ask me about it are very happy for me and think its a great opportunity. Others though have been very skeptical, even rude and unthoughtful.
So I have been doing a lot of thinking and praying, and this morning while i was praying and reading my morning devotion I thought about Jesus. I thought about how Judas and Simon Peter were suppose to be two of Jesus’ closest friends, yet when it cam down to it one of them handed him over to be killed and the other denied that he ever knew him. Yet, Jesus didnt let that detour him from his mission here on this Earth and what he was sent here to do. Jesus was then mocked and beaten.(Luke 22:63). Yet Jesus still didnt stop what he was here to do for us. In fact people mocked Jesus to his death, includeing the fact that the people rather have a murderer(Barabbas) be set free than Jesus the son of God. (Luke 23:18). Jesus came to this Earth to do his fathers work and to save us so that we may have Eternal life.
Jesus was beaten, mocked, and put through more pain than we could ever know, yet he didnt give up on us. He didnt stop what he was sent here to do. So, why then as Christians, myself included let what people say or what they might think stop us or slow us from doing what God has called us to do? We all as Christians need to come to a point in our lives and in our walks and relationships with God where we can truely say “Lord, I am Ready” and truely mean it whith all our heart, and act upon those words. I am at that point in my life. I can now truely say whith all my heart say “Lord, I am Ready!” “Lord, I am ready to do your work.” “Lord, I am ready to follow your will for my life and now my own.” Lord,I am ready to give up my life as I know it…” ” Lord, I am ready to start something new..” “Lord, I am ready to give it up, I am ready to give it up all for you!” ARE YOU READY???
WORLD RACE HERE I COME!!!
