So this is my month so far… at my ministry sight…We met our pastor last week and his family and spent some time at his house. Then that same night we went to the church and had an amazing time getting to know all the people that attend the church. We started ministry the next day and did door to door evangelism in the village we are working in. It was kinda hard for me at first but it is getting easier for me.
Then I think it was last Thursday we arrived at the church for what we though was suppose to be practice of a drama for saturday and we were informed we would be practiceing two dramas that we would preform that night. It caught us all off guard but we went for it. God showed up and they both turned out wonderful. Most days we spend doing door to door evangelsim which i am slowly getting used to. I love praying but the whole just walking up to peoples houses is new for me. God is definately taking me out of my comfort zone but i am so happy he is ands it is truely a blessing. One house we went to this past week a young women had been having trouble sleeping and had experienced a deemonic presence in her room including her bed even shaking sometimes. She had also been seeing demonic things too. So us girls prayed over her and our awesome men on our team went in and prayed over the room and the rest of the house. We then all prayed over the house. We went back this morning to talk with her and she is now sleeping peacefully.
When we are at the church several children come and watch us practice our dramas that we do quite often, and also love to play games with us. One little girl i met on the first night at the church everytime she sees me runs up to me and gives me a hug. She is 10 years old and so full of life. I love her so much. We ususally play different hand clapping games. She is also trying to teach me spanish, which is going very slow. haha.
I could go on and on about all that God is doing here. The people of the Dominican are hungry, a lot of them dont even realize how hungry for God they are. One thing that breaks my heart is that children here are exposed to sexual things at such a young age. As young as 8 years old. This breaks my heart. It tares me up inside when I hear these young boys making the most awful comments toward women.
So please just pray for a revival here in the Dominican. Pray that this nation would be turned to God. Nothing is Impossible with God. So please join me in prayer!
