A couple days ago all of us got to go to a home for women that have been rescued from being fourced into temple prostitution. This happens when a family sells their daughter to a temple. When a sexual act happens with these prostitutes it is considered an act of worship. Our contact said that were going to get to hear their stories, I was very excited. I knew they were going to be sad but I saw it as a way to share the word of God with these girls. We ended just hanging out with and got to learn what they do at the home. It was so fun, I ended up talking to a 17 year old who had been there for about 20 days. She asked me if I would sit with so she could show me what she was making, she also taught me how to make them. She asked me if I was Christian and knew Jesus and I told her yes. She is Hindu, but was very happy we where there she said. She also kept asking if I was going to come back and found out she likes to dance. I had so much fun, one of girls did Henna for some of us. One of the girls also drew a flower on my arm for me. Even though I expected to hear their stories it was so nice to get to know who they are. It is also going to help us create a relationship and more opportunities to share Jesus and pray for them. I have been reminded that sometimes it is not about the knowledge that you have and can share about Jesus but just being present and allowing your light to shine so the people around you. This is going to make them want to get to know you. You can share everything you know about Jesus, but he does not become real until they can experience his love and understand it is about a relationship. Can not wait to see what come out of these visits.
