El Salvador LOVES their ice cream and I am so glad, because I LOVE ICE CREAM!!!
I want to share a story of an afternoon on our day off. Our team had just eaten lunch and it was really hot in the food court of the mall and we had an hour till we were going to see a It´s a Good Day to Die for only 3 dollars. So my teammate Josh and I decided to go walk around the mall.
I saw a Gellato place and wanted to stop in, just to look at the prices. While we were there, I decided to get a free sample. Needless to say it was not as creamy as I had hoped and we moved on. In sight of the one Gelato place was another, so another sample! Still not as good, in sight of that…an ice cream place…another sample, across from that one, a pastry place, a yogurt place… We went upstairs and at the top of the stairs were 6 other ice cream or dessert places. So we HAD to check them ALL out.
It reminded me of a story of my grandfather and my cousin. My grandfather had taken my cousin on a trip when he was young and they ended up eating a lot of ice cream, even for breakfast!
So after many tendencies of my grandfather by checking all the options, the prices, the quality (and returning a credit card that was left in an atm machine to the bank) we finally made our purchases.
Drum Roll Please…..
The winner was…Sarita! It had a 2×1.80 deal of 2 huge waffle cones for 1.80. So 90 cents each! I went with the coffee chocolate chip ice cream and Josh went with the Mint Chocolate Chip! And it was the best ice cream and the best deal ever!
