Holy Spirit you are welcome here
Do you know what it’s like to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit?
Can you tell when Spirit leads you?
If someone were to ask you to describe this relationship, could you?
This topic is something that has been on my heart for the past couple of weeks, and I want to take the time to share my thoughts. You see fundraising and preparing for this mission trip (physically, mentally, spiritually, and finically) isn’t a walk in the park! There have been many of nights when I have questioned God’s plan for my life, and I have almost thrown in the towel.
Seriously, I would let the enemy get inside my head and trick me to think, “This is not the life you wanted! Why should you give us your life to help other? Do you know what you could do with $18,100?”
YIKES! Talk about annoying!
But, I’m always quickly humbled and awed by my Creator. Just when I think I can’t take anymore, Spirit reminds me that it’s not what I want, it’s what I need. Many people don’t know this about me, but the Holy Spirit and I have a pretty genuine and inspiring relationship, to say the least.
Ever since I can remember, God has used nature to communicate with me. Frankly, it’s unlike any earthly relationship I have ever encountered. Birds will come out of the woodworks just to hang out, and dragon flies will guide me to talk to people that I had no intention of talking with.
Talk about STRANGE!
You see, I used to be ashamed and embarrassed by this gift, for it’s not a “trendy topic of discussion,” and most people don’t understand. But, I’m ready to be real and vulnerable. I’m finally at a point in my life where I don’t care! LOL. So when people ask me how to describe this relationship, I only say, “I cannot.” Sounds like some legit relationship, right?
Wrong, the reason I cannot explain it is because there is nothing that I can say using any “earthly language” that would be able to express my feelings accurately. Now, if I had an interpreter of tongues for my “Heavenly Language” then maybe you would have a better idea of how I honestly feel about the Holy Spirit.
The purpose of this blog is to share some personal information about my relationship with the Holy Spirit in hopes that you too can grow stronger in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to guide us EACH AND EVERY step of the way. We just have to make the conscious decision to surrender and follow.
So here are some tips and scripture I have found helpful:
- Let nature guide you! God reveals Himself in nature to those who are willing to see the connection to every little thing. Nature is a giant web of connection, and we happen to be a part of it! So call on God’s creatures to help you have clarity and guidance.
- Be open and willing to do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do! This requires trust! To have faith, you must have trust! So start walking in the Spirit and trust the process!
- Expand yourself! This goes hand-in-hand with #2. To spiritual grow, we have to get out of our comfort zone! To make real change in our lives and this world, we have to keep spiritually expanding! An old dog CAN learn new tricks; it just has to TRY!
- Take time to pray with the Holy Spirit! If we aren’t asking, we are not receiving! Instead of looking at the things you don’t have, start seeing yourself with things you want. Be in the mindset of receiving all good things in your life. Have a clear vision of your life and the type of person you want to be. You’ll be amazing at whom you become!
- STOP CARING about what others think of you! You’re going to do some things that others may see as strange, weird or out right bonkers! But, be solid in your faith and remember to smile! You’re a Child of the HIGHEST GOD!
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
I hope these tips help and if anyone has any more tips or advice I would love to hear them!
Update on fundraising, we have currently raised over $7,500!
All thanks to God!
Love,
Chandler

Talk about DIVINE TIMING!
