I had the privilege of going to a Romanian wedding last month. It was a once in a lifetime experience and even though I couldn’t understand a word that was being said, it was beautiful. Those who know me know I’m an emotional guy, so it should come as no surprise when I say that I cried during the service. I couldn’t help it! Weddings are just so full of love and joy that it’s impossible not to be happy, especially for the two making a lifelong commitment to each other.

If you’ve been following my blogs then you know the last two I’ve written have talked about the concept of God being enough. That our relationship in Christ is enough to sustain us, and that everything else is just cherries on top so to speak. That is so true and we should serve God in such a way that out actions say He is enough, even if we don’t get anything else we want. However, let us not forget that our God is a good God and He’s a loving father who wants good things for His children. He doesn’t withhold from us our desires to tease us, but to teach us what it means to have and cherish those desires.

The Bible says that if we seek God wholeheartedly, that He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalms 37:4). What a great promise we can hold on to. God has placed in us desires that grow just as we do, and as long as God remains our top priority He will give us the things we want that honor Him. Like our own wedding. With that being said I’m thrilled to announce…I’m getting married! I don’t know when or to whom exactly, but God has reassured me that my desire is one that honors Him and that as a result He will honor that desire when His time is right, not mine. Oh how I look forward to that day. That day I’m already thanking and praising God for!
