As I sit here and look off into the vast Pacific Ocean, I am consumed by the presence of God. I look into the horizon, seagulls flying overhead, waves crashing against the shore and an endless ocean to the north and the south. Is there more out there? I sense, as I sit here, that God wants me to trust in Him. The Lord wants me to know that there is so much more to this life.

I have had visions of walking on the water towards the horizon. I have envisioned holding my fiancé’s hand and seeing along side of me and behind me, thousands of believers.

In this vision, we all were trusting the Lord that He would help us walk on the water toward the horizon. We walked together, encouraging each other, as some struggled and maybe started to sink. We supported each other, encouraged one another to continue forward, held hands and continued together towards the horizon.

The meaning of all of this is very simple. My beloved fiancé and I, as well as thousands of other leaders are stepping out of the boat and moving out onto the water. The act of stepping out and walking on water represents faith. We believe that our Father is with us and will not let us sink. As we walk out, towards the horizon, we represent this generation of Christ- followers. We represent the leaders who are going to breathe life into this generation and show them through our actions what it means to follow Jesus Christ. The horizon represents the world and how it seems impossible, but in Christ nothing is impossible.

The thousands of followers are those that have been resting dormant or stuck in lukewarm Christianity. They have been captured by religion, going through the motions of the day to day, resting in their workplaces wondering if there is something more. They are lions trapped in cages and are just waiting to be released, like horses ready for the race to begin. This is a generation that is waiting to embrace the true destinies God has created them for.

I believe that this vision is the beginning of a reality. I believe that a generation is ready to wake up and embrace the call. The Word says, “You are a chosen generation and royal priesthood (1st Peter 2:9).” I believe that it is our time; I believe that there is hope and that hope is Jesus Christ.
