“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” Isaiah 61:1

Every morning is a new beginning in this life that I live. I sit in my secret spot as the morning dew rolls off the spring time leaves. I sit in silence before the Lord and listen to the ice-melted water rush from below as the birds dance in the sunlit sky.

How could I not hear the Lord’s voice in the creation that I sit in? Mountainous peaks reaching 22,000 feet into the sky point straight to the Creator that formed them and breathed them into existence. I sit in awe at everything that surrounds me and the only thing that I can think is that my Father in heaven loves me more than this creation that surrounds me.

This is the exact morning that I wake up to every day. I get to praise the Lord for who He is and what He is doing all around me. To think, we have been here for only a week and a half and over 30 people have asked Christ into their lives, men have been healed of leg injuries and a church in Tumpa is coming to life.

Each day our group heads out on a 20 minute walk through Gods creation to the beautiful town of Tumpa. We continue to go door to door and share the love that God has given us and profess the only name that saves; Jesus Christ.

This particular day we had just finished praying with an old man to receive the Lord Jesus into His life as we headed to the town mayor’s house. This was the third straight day that we had been to the mayor’s house expecting to receive documentation that we needed to speak in the town school but we were of no avail because he was not there.

The Lord says to make the most of every situation so that is exactly what we did. Outside the mayor’s house were four teenage boys waiting to go off to school. I sat and read my Bible as Josue’ came up to me and asked if I would like to share Jesus with the boys. I of course jumped at the opportunity and introduced myself through my translator Richard.

It was such a surreal situation because I saw myself in these boys. I saw the religion that I was stuck in when I was their age and I knew at that moment that the Lord was going to reveal Himself to them. I poured my heart out through Scripture and spoke that our Lord didn’t want these boys to just know the name of Jesus Christ; He wanted them to know Him personally.

So many in this world are exactly like these boys. They know the name of Jesus Christ, but they do not know Him personally. This is one of the greatest lies that the devil tries to deceive people into because he knows that religion will keep them from heaven. Following after religion and going through the rituals leads to death, but life is knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Praying to the Father and including Him in every part of your life. This is exactly what the God who created the heavens and the earth wants for your life.

This is exactly what happened to these four young men. They acknowledged that they were sinners, that the Lord died for them on the cross and they asked the Lord Jesus to come into their lives. They realized that they were following religion and they wanted Jesus to become real to them. They wanted the living Word of God to ring true in their lives. They wanted to become born again in the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I praise God that I am a part of His plan for Tumpa. I praise Him that thousands are going to come to know His name and that the captives as talked about in Isaiah 61 are going to be set free.

God Bless.
